Collaboratively write, produce, direct, and edit a short film!
• We provide state-of-the art cameras, lights, and computers

KIDTOONS

Your ideas + our resources = endless possibilities! The sky’s the limit with animation.
• Learn how stop-motion animated films are made
• Experiment with puppets, clay, paper, and other media
• Record voiceovers and sound effects, and choose your own score or soundtrack

Six-Session Course

The perfect introduction to everything the Lab has to offer! Get to know every production space in our state-of-the-art facility.
• Create green-screen special effects in the sound stage
• Learn about sound editing and music in the recording studio
• Begin to use editing software
• Act for the camera

SEEING STORIES
Musician, author, educator and master Storyteller Bill Gordh returns to the Media Arts Lab for two fun-filled FREE workshops for 4, 5, 6 & 7 year olds.
NEW! SEEING STORIES: The Haunted House
Halloween Special Event!
For 6 & 7 year olds
Sat., Oct. 31, 10:00 am-12:00 pm
A uniquely spooky workshop where young children will listen to not-too-scary stories from around the world and use their imaginations to create, tell, and act out their own haunted tales. Short animated movies and an activity using the green screen to create special effects will round out this exciting program. Come in your costume and bring your scary ideas!
Class size: 12

NEW! SEEING STORIES: Animal Adventures
For 4 & 5 year olds
Sat., Nov. 21, 10:00 am-11:30 am
Children are invited to bring a parent for an exciting adventure at the Media Arts Lab. As a pair, they will listen to and act out stories about all kinds of furry creatures! There will also be instruments to create sound effects and short animated movies to enrich this multi-media experience. Of course there will be popcorn too!
Class size: 6 pairs
Cost: FREE! Registration is required.
