Education

Education

Since opening our doors in 2001, the Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) has been committed to 21st century literacy education and innovative film programming.

The new 27,000-square-foot Media Arts Lab, down the street from the JBFC Theater in Pleasantville, NY, is the hub for our education programs. Our international faculty presents dozens of courses in multimedia storytelling for children, teens, and adults at the Lab, now in its second year of operation. At the same time, we are also creating and teaching innovative programs for schools and organizations. By integrating visual communication into the pre-K through grade 12 curriculum, we are working to transform education on a global level.

Tour the Lab to see what everyone is talking about!
On the third Thursday of every month, we offer free tours of the Media Arts Lab. Each participant receives one free pass to a regular screening at the JBFC Theater that night. Meet in the lobby of the Lab at 5:30 pm. Tours last approximately 30 minutes. No pre-registration needed.
