Screening Room
Since opening our doors in 2001, the Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) has been committed to education programs in 21st century literacy and to innovative film programming. The Media Arts Lab, our state-of-the art facility located down the street from the JBFC Theater in Pleasantville, NY, is the hub of our education programs. Our international faculty presents dozens of courses in multimedia storytelling for children, teens, and adults at the Lab. In addition, we create and teach innovative programs for schools and organizations. By integrating visual communication into the pre-K through grade 12 curriculum, we are working to transform education nationally and internationally.

Digital Journalism
Look Inside Trailer
Look Inside was created by students in the BOCES Incarcerated Youth Program (IYP) at the Westchester County Jail. The JBFC spent three months teaching eight inmates how to film and edit digital video and helped them produce a short documentary film about life "inside." This project was made possible by the support of Westchester County Department of Corrections and Southern Westchester BOCES.
A screening of the short film will be followed by a panel discussion with the student filmmakers, and JBFC and IYP staff, Wed. Apr. 7 at 7:00 pm. Please RSVP by Fri., Apr. 2 to Alana Benoit, abenoit@burnsfilmcenter.org
