I Am Love

“New Releases”

"In every sense, I Am Love is a stunning achievement." (Variety)

A masterfully lensed, expertly acted collaboration with a keen Hitchcockian flare, I Am Love is a seven-year labor of love by director Luca Guadagnino and actress Tilda Swinton. It tells the story of the wealthy Recchi family, shaken by the recent death of their patriarch. Cyrus

“New Releases”

"Amuses and unnerves in equal measure. A comedy of discomfort that walks a wonderful line between reality-based emotional honesty and engaging humor, it demonstrates the good things that happen when quirky independent style combines with top-of-the-line acting skill." (LA Times)

With John's social life at a standstill and his ex-wife about to get remarried, a down-on-his-luck divorcée (John C. Reilly) finally meets the woman of his dreams (Marisa Tomei), only to discover she has another man in her life—her son, Cyrus. Mighty Uke

“Sounds of Summer: New Music Documentaries”

In the early ’20s the ukelele was the most popular instrument in the American home, only fading into nerdy obscurity at the rise of the rock-and-roll guitar. And now it’s making a comeback as members of the global “uke revolution”—including Palestinian-Israeli string groups, Swedish goth-metal bands, and Santa Cruz retirees—are challenging our image of the plinky, four-stringed Hawaiian novelty. And it’s all here in this delightful documentary, which has won over audiences across the country.

July 7, 7:30 pm: And just for fun, there will be a special appearance by 8 students from Fox Lane School who will be playing the ukulele after the film.

Tony Coleman. 2010. 76 m. NR. Various Countries. Abramorama.
