Portrait of Wally“Westchester Jewish Film Festival 2012” The shocking account of Egon Schiele’s tender 1912 painting of his mistress, Portrait of Wally. The work, looted by the Nazis, was rediscovered in 1997—on the walls of the Museum of Modern Art. The resulting criminal investigation led to a historic 13-year-long court case that pitted museums against collectors and survivors, and exposed international subterfuge and shifting loyalties regarding stolen property and historical accountability. Q&A April 30, 5:00 pm: Producer/Screenwriter David D’Arcy and Federal Agent Bonnie Goldblatt . David D'Arcy is a critic and journalist who has been writing about disputes over art since the 1980s. Bonnie Goldblatt, who appears in the film, served as a Senior Special Agent, Program Manager and District Subject Matter Expert for international art and antiquities investigations under the U.S. Customs Service and Department of Homeland Security.

In revealing interviews, filmmaker Bahat explores what it means for victims to live among perpetrators, and for the perpetrators’ children to deal with the guilt borne from the crimes of their parents.
