Ocean Waves“The Phantasmagoric Films of Miyazaki, Takahata and the Masters of Studio Ghibli” Join us for this rare American screening of one of Ghibli’s least seen and most mature and thoughtful efforts, told through the memories of Taku, a young man growing up in a rural town. The world always seemed too small till the arrival of a beautiful transfer student from Tokyo whose exotic behavior and big-city attitudes challenge Taku’s friendship with classmate Yutaka. A lovely film that proves the trademark Ghibli sense of wonder can translate to everyday stories.
