SILVER SCREEN CIRCLE: PARTNERS IN FILM AND EDUCATION

Silver Screen Circle (SSC) members are crucial to the Jacob Burns Film Center’s innovative film, education, and outreach programs. Every year, we rely on the support of our partners to present more than 400 diverse films from around the world and bring our education programs to over 6,000 students from underserved school districts throughout Westchester County.

Thanks to SSC members, students from Mt. Vernon, Yonkers, Port Chester, as well as children at foster care facilities, social service agencies, and residential treatment centers, experience our creative approach to education completely free of charge. Their participation, including transportation, is funded entirely by the JBFC.

Membership in the Silver Screen Circle is available at the following levels:

Director: $2,500

Producer: $5,000

Executive Producer: $10,000

A highlight of the year is the Silver Screen Circle Celebration. Our tenth annual celebration was held on January 9, 2011 and featured film highlights with Robert Redford and Jonathan Demme, followed by a seated lunch in the Jane Peck Gallery.  Past honorees include Jessica Lange, Ed Harris, Hilary Swank, Ed Norton, Kevin Spacey, and Jeff Bridges. This very special event is for Silver Screen Circle members only, who receive anywhere from two to ten complimentary tickets depending on their membership level.

*Silver Screen Circle Members receive all basic JBFC membership benefits, including Reel Partner discounts, JBFC calendar subscription, waived Media Arts Lab registration fee, and 10% discount on all Lab courses. All benefits are valid for a full calendar year beginning on the date gift is received.

***Tax deductibility may vary based on use of available benefits. Silver Screen Circle members will receive an end-of-year gift acknowledgment and deductibility statement for tax purposes.

SILVER SCREEN CIRCLE BENEFIT DESCRIPTIONS

• Free Tickets: Regular Screenings: A "regular screening" is a film event with a JBFC member price of $6.00. 

• Free Tickets: Opening Night Events: An Opening Night Event (special screening and reception) is scheduled for each of our annual series. Reservations for complimentary tickets must be made in advance and are subject to availability.

• Private use of Theater 2 or 3:  Executive Producer members at the $25,000 level are granted one-time private use of Theater 2 or Theater 3, with post or pre-screening use of the Jane Peck Gallery. Executive Producer members at the $10,000 level are granted one-time private use of Theater 3.
  *Theater use is available Mon. – Thurs. only and must be scheduled at least 6 weeks in advance by calling Kim Turner at 914.773.7663, ext. 429 to help coordinate your event.  

• The Chairman’s Dinner: The annual JBFC Board Dinner, which includes a cocktail reception and seated dinner in the Media Arts Lab.

• In the Spotlight Forums: Invitations to intimate gatherings in the Media Arts Lab for topical conversations with JBFC programmers, faculty or special guests. Forums are designed to foster greater understanding of JBFC education and film programs, and provide insight to the Film Center’s strategic  goals.

• SSC Easy Access Tickets: Offers a no-hassle, plan-ahead option so that your tickets will be waiting for you at Will Call. The SSC Easy Access Ticket phone number is conveniently located on the back of your SSC membership card. 
  *SSC Easy Access Tickets is available Mon. – Fri. 9 am – 5 pm.  Purchases/Reservations for weekend films must be received by 5 pm on Fridays, and all tickets are subject to availability.

• Silver Screen Circle Celebration: An annual event honoring a distinguished leader in the film industry. This special evening includes a film tribute, Q&A and a seated dinner in the Jane Peck Gallery.

• Free Tickets to Selected Special Events: Complimentary Ticket offers (via email) to preview screenings and filmmaker events. The number of complimentary tickets per event, and the number of invitations per year varies according to the level of SSC membership. 
  *For all events, reservations must be made by the designated RSVP date to guarantee tickets.

• Advance Priority Purchase Offers: The JBFC will offer SSC members advance priority purchase opportunities to selected preview screenings and filmmaker events before they go on sale to other JBFC members and the general public.
  *Purchases must be secured by the RSVP date on the email offer to guarantee tickets.

• Thursday Circle: Preview screenings in the Media Arts Lab followed by a reception. These gatherings offer SSC members an opportunity to meet one another and engage in conversation with the JBFC Programming Director.

• SSC Sneak Peek E-Bulletins: Monthly e-bulletins announcing new bookings and special upcoming film and education events before they are announced to the public. Sneak Peeks are a look ahead to help you plan your calendar.   

• $5 off Regular Admission: A basic JBFC benefit of membership.  

• JBFC Film Club Eligibility: SSC members are eligible to join the JBFC Film Club.
  *Subscription fee must be submitted by the RSVP date to guarantee space.

• Recognition in Annual Report: SSC members are listed as major gift donors in the JBFC Annual Report.
