Give Me Liberty

“Completely, delightfully unpredictable from scene to scene, Give Me Liberty draws you in with its moving performances and blasts of broad comedy.” (New York Times)

“F***ing Siberia! F***ing Wisconsin!” shouts our shambling hero, Vic, a 25-year-old medical transport driver who tries to balance the demands of a dozen hilariously kvetching, unassimilated elderly Russian funeral guests with those of his special-needs clients. Director Kirill Mikhanovsky creates a beautiful, human portrait of Milwaukee and its residents, a never patronizing, always surprising, and wildly funny representation of both Russian-Jewish immigrant and African American life in this corner of the Midwest.

This film is part of the Westchester Jewish Film Festival 2020 series.
